Katombi vs Maima: who is a better musician?

I almost caused a fight at a certain muguka base when I posed the question as to who, between Alex Kasau (Katombi) of Nguuni Lovers Lovers and Alphonse Kioko (Maima) of Kithungo boys band is a better musician! there were also others who were fiercely of the view that Maima (Alphonse Kioko) is the better musician. And there were some who were strongly of the view that Alex Kasau is the better musican... Both camps made strong points in support of the respective Kamba music stars. 

The truth of the matter is that both Maima and Katombi are good musicians in their different ways. Whereas Katombi (Alex Kasau) has a tendency to compose songs with very deep themes, Maima (Alphonse Kioko) has a tendency to compose highly entertaining songs with a lot of swag.

Therefore a comparison between Alex Kasau and Alphonse Kioko is unfair, because both are good musicians, and each one of them comes with a unique talent. If you to a Katombi/Nguuni lovers Loves performance today, you are likely to be impressed by the attendance, especially by 1 to 2 Am when the shows reach climax. And if you go to a Maima/Kithungo band performance tomorrow, you are likely to be equally impressed by attendance, especially by 1 Am and 2 Am, when the shows reach climax. Of course, the fact that Maima (Alphonse Kioko) has gotten an opportunity to perform at presidential functions has really raised his profile a great deal.
