Well, Machakos Teachers training college is in Miwani neighborhood
of Machakos Town. It is adjacent to the Machakos Boys School.
If you are coming from Machakos Town center, you take the
road that goes to Nairobi for a short while. You go past Machakos Susu Center,
past the Machakos Anglican Cathedral and past the Machakos Prison Farm. You
also go past Machakos Boys school a bit. Just after Machakos Boys, on the right
hand side, you will find a road that leads to Machakos Teachers college. You
take that road, and travel for around 800 meters to 1 KM, to get to Machakos
Teachers college.
On the other hand, if you are coming from Nairobi side, you
won’t have to reach Machakos Town center. On getting to Miwani neighborhood you
turn left and drive for 800 or so meters to get to the Machakos teachers
college. So coming from the Nairobi city, you turn left at Makutano Junction
(near where governor Mutua built the wananchi toilet), then you travel past
towns like Kathome and Kithini and past Kenya Israel and Manza to finally get
to Mig’wani area, where Machakos Teachers college is located.
What they seem to have in that area is an educational complex, with
at least 4 educational institutions lined up from the road: starting with
Machakos Boys which touches the highway, Machakos teachers college, then
Machakos Academy and another high school around that area whose name I forget.
So
the take-home here is that Machakos Teachers College is in Mig’wani area of
Machakos town.As for how it operates, Machakos teachers college has been offering P1 certificates in teaching, though I heard the curriculum countrywide is to be changed, with the P1 certificates being replaced with diplomas.
